Northern Neck Berean Sunday School Commission
The Northern Neck Berean Sunday School Commission's purpose is consistent with the exhortation of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, in the Great Commission. "Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost: Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you: and lo, I am with you always, even unto the end of the world. Amen {Matthew 28: 19- 20}
Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth.
( 2 Timothy 2:15)
WorkshopsThe Sunday School Commission workshops are held on the third Saturday in January, April, and September at 9:00 a.m. We believe that you cannot teach or provide help with what you don’t know. Attending our workshops supply training and oversight that equip Sunday School superintendents, teachers, and members in providing effective and relevant service in their churches and community.
Love, Hope, and Joy MinistryThe Love Hope and Joy Ministry is the Sunday School Commission’s way of ministering and evangelizing to families during the Christmas season. The vision of this ministry is to share the universal message of love, hope, and joy through the Gospel of Jesus Christ (Matthew 25:35-40). The mission is to demonstrate the Spirit of Jesus Christ through love and compassion as we minister to the needs of the people of His Church and Community. The selection of the family is based on the family’s needs, they must attend one of the churches in the Northern Neck Baptist Association and must submit a completed application. All information is kept strictly confidential. In addition to our Love, Hope, and Joy Ministry, the Sunday School Commission gives Christmas monetary donations to members of our churches in the Northern Neck Baptist Association within the four counties. The members are from one church chosen alphabetically within each of the four counties. ScholarshipThe Sunday School Commission is one of the teaching arms of the NNBA and supports higher learning through scholarships for our high school graduates. We offer annually a scholarship to graduating high school seniors aspiring to further their education in a 2-year or 4-year college program.
Community OrganizationsThe Sunday School Commission is concerned about the social and economic welfare of our Northern Neck community. We donate annual monies to varied organizations that support the economic and social needs of the Northern Neck residents. Our support of the organizations communicates to the Northern Neck residents that “they matter” and that “we care.”
